WHAT do Angus Stone, the police, a possum and a barking dog have in common?

They were all a part of an intimate gig on a rural property in Byron Bay yesterday afternoon.

Stone played seven songs from his second solo album, Broken Brights to 20 industry folk keen to cap off the Splendour weekend with the soothing sounds of Stone's signature folk.

It Was Blue, The Wolf And The Butler, River Love, The Blue Door, River Love, Only A Woman, Monsters and End Of The World rang out from the veranda as Stone and his band "drifted" through each.

The relaxed setting was a stark contrast to his slot on the GW McLennan stage on Sunday where thousands of punters sang along to his every word.

Not everyone enjoyed the impromptu performance, however, the police arrived four songs into the set after receiving a noise complaint, leaving with the assurance the award-winning singer songwriter wouldn't be playing too long.

"Did anyone tell them this isn't noise?" A band member joked."

The complaint didn't come from the neighbouring property who set up chairs to enjoy the show while one, still reeling from the weekend's activities, swayed to the music dressed in a possum costume "onesie".

Inca, Stone's dog, enjoyed the show joining in when things kicked off and intermittently throughout the performance.

Angus Stone is half of the ARIA award winning brother, sister duo Angus and Julia Stone.
