Cars from General Motors and Toyota top the list of vehicles that offer the best combined fuel economy and have high industry ratings, according to TotalCarScore.com, an automotive comparison website that compiles data from multiple automotive sources and creates a single score encompassing the vehicle overall. The two manufacturers had seven cars each on the list of 20 vehicles that encompassed every segment of automobiles.
Cars that made the list had segment-leading fuel economy as well as an above-average Total Car Score for their respective segments. The 2012 Toyota Prius had the highest mpg rating of the cars on the list, while the 2012 Toyota Camry Hybrid had the highest Total Car Score of cars on the list, with a rating of 85.59 out of 100.
